Change in a mindful way

Hello meditators!

I’m having a hard time focusing with all the Black Lives Matter movements that are going on in our country right now.  I need your mindful attention, mindful practitioners!  I want you to listen to me and go to your heart.  Be silent and feel what you’re feeling.

As uncomfortable as it might be, I want you to feel the pain of what African Americans have to go through not just this moment but centuries under the racism and white supremacy that’s interwoven in American culture.  You don’t have to be American or living in America, if you have a heart, please go there and feel it.  This is the best time to use our meditation practice or any spiritual practices we are working on.  If you are Whites, you might feel like getting away from this pain or discomfort, or don’t really know what to begin with.  Whatever that is, be aware and feel it.  Please DO NOT cover up and go use other methods to feel “better” or “positive”.  Because that’s the “White Privilege” we non White folks are talking about all this time.  You can getaway but we can’t because of the culture we are in.  I’m not Black but I know how racism and white privilege/ignorance can hurt.  Don’t fluff up.  Please feel our pain!  In order for our country to change, for Black people to feel safe in this country, White people and non Black people who are hiding behind the white privilege have to come out and show their presence.  We have to be aware of it.  Just because we flag Black lives matter doesn’t mean Black people can shake hands with White people and now they are equal.  That’s not even a point.  They’ve been oppressed for centuries and we non Blacks have to acknowledge that.  If you are from other oppressed communities, other minority groups in America and in the world, if you’re from LGBTQ community just to name a few, I’m sure you can relate to Black folks pain.  Now is our time to let White folks/white privileged people know how we feel for being oppressed and not having a voice WITHOUT A PUNISHMENT.  We have to let the systemic racism know that we can relearn and start to rebuild without violence and injustice.  And White folks, we want you to listen with your heart.  Feel with your heart.  Don’t cover up, don’t fluff up trying to be positive or happy just because you feel bad.  This is not the time.  I stand with White  folks, too.  We have to work together.  We have to learn together.  We need your attention the most now.  You are the majority.  If you get it and practice it, the change we are going through now will have a bright future.  Let’s do this together.  We can mindfully protest so that American system will change for better.  Love to all!
