My New Normal

What's up everybody?  

As I said in the last blog, I'm officially Social distancing and staying at home.  Our "Shelter-in-place" order kicked in on Tuesday and the juice bar I work at shutdown until 4/8.  I'm at home just doing things I need to catch up with.  Unlike other people, I am not bored at home!  Rather, I have so many things I need to do and I've been just busy doing all that.  This blog is one of the many things on my list and I am just so happy that I have plenty of time to work on it.  This is becoming my New Normal.  

My thing is to see things differently.  I know it sucks to stay home all day all night but I'm treating this Social distancing as my Staycation.  Today, I walked my dog with my hubby and made Taco 🌮 and Potato chips!  I'm always finding something I enjoy to do.  

This is my dog Chestnut!  She's such a sweetheart.  She loves to walk with her mommy and daddy!  When she walks with us, she acts like a  puppy!  She's got tons of energy and romps around every time we go out together.  She is my cutie pie angel and I love her to death!

The sign shows to the highway.  It looks like a Ghost town due to the Shelter-in-place but the truth is, Monterey always looks like that because it's a small town.  

And below, we saw this beautiful bird.  I don't know what kind it is but I really like it. It reminds me of Crane. 

 

Here's our neighborhood.  We have lots of trees!  They produce clean air.  We live in an oxygen tank.

This is before we took off for the walk.  I made Taco.  I used the leftover sauces and salsa from my hubs work.  The sausage you see here is Vegan.  It tastes good, I gotta tell ya.  I added lettuce and cilantro and voila!  

In the meantime, my Chestnut was staring at my bomb-Taco.  She always does that when I'm cooking something.  She's waiting for my mercy.  She looooves her freebies.

Going back to the walk.  We walked around and came to a pond.  Look at these Duckies!  Monterey is still beautiful and I don't see Coronavirus Pandemic in this town.  It's too peaceful to feel the craze which Coronavirus chaos has brought to this world.  

I wanna share another peaceful thing.  Our babies love to hangout in the kitchen.  In fact, we all love it here.  This is our sanctuary.  

This is when I was making Potato chips.  They go mad when they smell food. 

Turned out real crispy and awesome!  Also, we baked them, not fried them!  These are the healthy alternatives.  They taste as good!  It's the salt flavor.  

So this is how I spend my stay at home.  I always try to see something good out of bad.  You can say this is a challenging time but maybe, this is the universe way to tell us humans to slow down and connect with our own lives.  In every darkness, there's a light.  In fact, this is not darkness.  This is an opportunity for us to look at things from the different views.  I'm very thankful for this halt that we are experiencing now.

New Normal                                              新しい常識 (普段から当たり前とみなされている事)。ここでは、コロナ感染のせいでみんなが注意して必須な仕事をしていない人は家で待機し、買い物以外は外出禁止という状態のこと。

It sucks                                                       サイアク。Suck (sucks) は口語のスラング。

Staycation                                                 Vacation(休暇)ではあるが家にいる事、どこにも行かないことをstay-cation (ステケイション)という。

She's got tons of energy and romps around    彼女はたくさんエネルギーがあり、飛び回る。

Cutie pie angel                                                 Chestnutの他のあだ名。Cutie pieは可愛い子に対する呼び名。

I love her to death!                                           彼女のこと死ぬほど好き
