The Painful Truth
Ever since George Floyd was killed at the hands of injustice, I started paying even more attention to the painful truths. You wouldn't notice if you don't take a close look. And unfortunately, it's in everywhere. Positivity in the name of sanitization will dismiss the reality of our filthy surface. When things are surfacing from the deep down, don't wipe them off yet. You don't see what they really are. Here's the video which made me think and empathize. When you've been there, you know how it hurts. By watching this, I empathized and relived my mistreatments to and with Adanna.
I've noticed that there are people in this world who will come in your space and start invading you mentally or trying to be one up as if you need to be convinced by them. Please do not in my platform. You are not invited if you come in trying to preach your enlightenment. You can be you but I can be me, too. Especially if I didn't even ask what you think, please do not share in this space because I'm sick and tired of your colonization mentality. This is where I can be who I am, where I can express what I am, and where I commit to vocalize what I need. This is my sacred space, this is where my art forms live, and this is where I breathe. So please be mindful of you solicitation. You are not welcomed to preach your realization on me. You are not allowed to harass me. I felt invaded by this person who kept writing long comments under my post somewhere else. This person didn't even respond to my topic; it is so slick and solicitating of ego filled nirvana. It was an unpleasant invasion especially because this person seemed not realizing it. I'm feeling some type of way, hence my poem in the previous page. When I'm consumed and hurt by the racism and what's happening in America, I need to take care of my soul in a loving way to restore, rest and heal. I don't have time to shelter your ego. If you're not my best friend and you know you're not, don't engage me in. Uninvited you who are making your point with your ignorance will have to leave my presence. That's all.
